Artist’s Open Houses 2018 – Brighton

It’s that time of year for the craziness of festival season in Brighton, and we’re delighted to be taking part in Brighton’s Open Houses again. We’ve got some fab new work by some returning artists and also from some new people, so lots to look at. We’ve got fabulous contemporary jewellery from Sweetiepips and Hello Terry, seaside themed knitted seagulls and friends by From Brighton With Love, funny and stylish illustrated goods from Sarah Edmonds and Laura Danby, charming prints from Jennifer Rose, iconic photography from Alex Bamford, wonderful tropical botanic prints from Anna’s Drawing Room, and Unknown will be creating a painting installation in the garden!

Personally, I love the motivation the Open House gives me to produce my own design work outside of my clients’ briefs, and often the work I do on my personal projects feeds back into my day job; which definitely makes it worth it. Plus, I love seeing people smile when they look at my work. I’m hoping my new tea towel designs will amuse; it’s nice to make people happy!

This year we’ve got a great line up of artists:

Alex Bamford – Photography
Lisa Bamford – Graphic art
Sarah Edmonds – Illustration
Anna Vartiainen – Printmaking
Claire Shepherd – Jewellery
Laura Danby – Graphic art
Sweetiepips – Jewellery
Sally Evans – Textiles
Jennifer Rose – Illustration
Unknown – Painting

We’re open from 11am to 6pm every Saturday and Sunday in May at 21a Brunswick Square – www.21abrunswicksquare.com The garden will be open for savoury and sweet treats from Real Patisserie… if we haven’t eaten it all before you get here! Look for the bunting outside.
