In the Ironbridge Gorge area Shropshire, you’ll find Blists Hill Victorian Town, an open-air museum built on a former industrial complex. The museum recreate the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I particularly like the chemist shop; so many dinky bottles of suspect potions and lotions. On a recent visit, the way they’d tied in the necessary safety messages in with their theme amused me greatly. I imagine the museum’s graphic designer had a huge amount of fun designing all the posters and signage dotted around the site. A dream job!
